Privacy Policy

If you are a subscriber, your email address is your personal property.  You have every right to stop receiving email anytime you choose and to only receive relevant and wanted email.  We only collect and hold your email address in order to send you the newsletters you have requested. You can unsubscribe at any time for any reason with zero tears or recriminations. If you ever have a problem with your subscription, contact us. We personally answer all emails.

It is always easy to unsubscribe the newsletter. Just go to the bottom of the newsletter and use the "unsubscribe" link.

Alternatively, just reply to a newsletter issue with only the word "unsubscribe" in the subject line. This will unsubscribe you to that particular newsletter.

Opt-out protection

When an email address is removed, the system remembers exactly who opted-out and can prevent this person from being mistakenly re-added to the subscriber list. This protects the subscriber and enforces the opt-in policy to which the newsletter publisher has agreed to abide.

Use of Cookies

We use use cookies to authenticate the user and keep track of the user session. We also use cookies to govern over survey voting. We do not use cookies to collect any information about you. All cookies, except those used for survey validation, expire within several hours after a period of idle use.

SPAM and Policy Abuse

Despite all above precautions and policies, there remains the possibility an email will be sent to a person (or a list of people) who will view the email received as un-welcomed solicitation or unwanted email. In some cases this may be due to a misunderstanding between us and the recipient. As a first step, we encourage email recipients to first consider if they are indeed part of this "opt-in" email list.

We follow all of these provisions and guidelines:

Header information is accurate. The "From Line" is either the name of the publication, our company or the name of a company representative.

Subject lines are accurate and not misleading in any way. These are either the name of the publication or a description of one of the articles that appears in the newsletter.

Every newsletter has a clear and prominent opt-out message and link to opt-out immediately. These opt-outs are removed immediately and put into a suppression list that ensures non-mailing unless the person who opted out re-subscribes.

Newsletters do not require the commercial advertisement notice, but do require a valid sender's physical postal address and contact information. In addition to the opt-out area, InternetVIZ newsletters include the physical address and contact information of the sender.

We comply with the Can Spam Act. It has four major provisions:

  1. It bans false or misleading header information. Your email's "From," "To," and routing information - including the originating domain name and email address - must be accurate and identify the person who initiated the email.
  2. It prohibits deceptive subject lines. The subject line cannot mislead the recipient about the contents or subject matter of the message.
  3. It requires that emails give recipients an opt-out method. A return email address must be provided or another Internet-based response mechanism that allows a recipient to ask you not to send future email messages to that email address, and all unsubscribe requests must be honored. A menu of choices may be used to allow a recipient to opt out of certain types of messages, but the option to end any commercial messages from the sender must be included

Any opt-out mechanism offered must be able to process opt-out requests for at least 30 days after you send your commercial email. When you receive an opt-out request, the law allows 10 business days to stop sending email to the requestor's email address. We do not help  another entity send email to that address, or have another entity send email on our behalf to that address. Finally, it's illegal to sell or transfer the email addresses of people who choose not to receive your email, even in the form of a mailing list, unless you transfer the addresses so another entity can comply with the law.
  4. It requires that commercial email includes the sender's valid physical postal address.

We follow the best practices to avoid SPAM or even the perception of SPAM.

A high and pure reputation with ISPs is crucial to our success and the success of our newsletter.

Opt-outs are handled immediately. If a SPAM complaint does occur (this happens a few times a year), we address it immediately by assuring the removal of the complainant's e-mail address and contacting them to let them know this action was taken at their request. In the past we have found that often the complainant recants (or remembers that they did subscribe) and re-subscribes.
